BOB & LILA TRACING TIME C34

Lila Jarzombek and I started playing music together in 2019 after recognizing a shared interest in psychedelic and American Primitive guitar. We would convene in Lila’s garage or backyard every few months, swap ideas for tunings and improvise for a couple of hours. The jams were sprawling and unhurried, with no real intention other than to listen and explore. We always let the recorder run in the background though, eventually amassing the hours of raw material from which the present collection has been culled. This release is an attempt to encapsulate the way time passes though playing music, or engaging in any ritualistic activity, with friends. Years go by while out the window birds sing, dogs bark, seasons change and people age. I’d like to think that this is music that acknowledges the way things change; the beautiful and terrifying flow of life that can’t be stopped, only surrendered to.
